Carrol McLaughlin is one of the most dynamic, inspiring performers on the speaking network. She has given over 1000 speaking engagements throughout the world, including North and South America, Europe, Japan (32 trips!) Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, India, and Russia. In addition to being an outstanding speaker, Carrol holds a Doctorate degree in Music, and is a world respected concert harpist. Her experiences performing in front of thousands of people throughout the world is the basis for her ability to help anyone learn to believe in themselves, and to present at their highest level of excellence. Carrol's education includes a Master of Music from the prestigious Juilliard School in New York and Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Arizona, where she leads one of the top harp programs in the world. Carrol has won numerous awards for her teaching and outreach, including the University's highest honor, the Five Star Teaching Award. In 2005 she was awarded the University of Arizona Creative Teaching Awards in both graduate and undergraduate education and two awards of recognition from the American Indian Arts Conservancy and the Arapaho Indian Nation.
Carrol's upcoming book, Power Performance, uses knowledge from the concert stage and concepts of Neuro Linguistic Programming to assist anyone to overcome their inhibitions and be able to perform with excellence in any venue, from an intricate medical operation to public speaking, without self-doubts and deprecating internal dialogue. It is this wealth of information that has made her an international favorite with a wide variety of audiences, including Andrew Weill's Integrative Medicine Workshops, the Puerto Rican Mind/Body Institute, and Universities from Moscow to Peru. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and has inspired thousands to achieve their highest potential.

WORLD RENOWN HARPIST:
Carrol McLaughlin has performed extensively as a soloist and with orchestras throughout North and South America, Europe, Japan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, India, and Russia. Her performing career has included concerto performances with the Kyoto Symphony, Japan; the St. Petersburg Symphony, Russia; the Orchestra de Santiago in Santiago, Chile, and many others. She has given solo recitals in Carnegie Hall, New York; Wigmore Hall, London; Casals Hall, Tokyo, and the National Concert Hall in Taipei, Taiwan. She was featured as the opening recitalist at the World Harp Congress in Copenhagen and the American Harp Society National Conference in Denver, Colorado. She has also been featured at the Vera Dulova Festival in Moscow, the World Harp Congresses in Prague and Geneva, the Lily Laskine Festival in Paris, the Soka City Festival in Japan, and numerous other festivals around the world. Her education includes Master of Music from the Juilliard School and Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Arizona, where she was Teaching Assistant to Susann McDonald. Since 1982, Carrol has held the position of Professor of Harp at the University of Arizona and won numerous awards for her teaching, including the University's highest honor, the Five Star Teaching Award. In 2005 she was awarded the University of Arizona Creative Teaching Awards in both graduate and undergraduate education and two awards of recognition from the American Indian Arts Conservancy and the Arapaho Indian Nation. In 2008 Carrol received a Fulbright Senior Specialist Award to teach at the Cairo Conservatory in Egypt, the Henry and Phyllis Koffler Prize for most outstanding Teacher at the University of Arizona, and the honor of being named a Distinguished Professor. She is the founder and director of the international touring ensemble, HarpFusion, who have recorded extensively and toured throughout the U.S., Mexico, Puerto Rico, Russia, Europe, Japan, and the Czech Republic. Carrol is one of the few harpists in the world who combines classical harp repertoire on the concert stage with original pop and jazz arrangements…a skill she learned when at age four she began to perform with her father's jazz bands.
